All Renfe Viajeros trains come with a guaranteed connection for journeys with a change of train.
This guarantee is valid where there is a 60-minute gap between the two journeys (if the change is made at the same station) or a 90-minute gap (if the second train departs from a different station in the same city) between the scheduled arrival of the first train and the scheduled departure of the second.
There is no guarantee between Cercanías and Feve services or between these and any other services.
Passengers with a guaranteed connection ticket must make their own way between stations in the same city, except where there is a Renfe train or alternative service, such as in Valencia, where tickets will be valid for the journey between both stations.
If a connection is lost due to failure by Renfe Viajeros, passengers will have the right to a free ticket for the next train, in addition to compensation for delayed arrival at their destination. If passengers decide to abandon their onward journey, their return journey to their departure station will be free and they will receive a refund of the ticket price.
In order to benefit from a guaranteed connection, passengers must have their tickets on them from their departure until their final destination for each journey leg.
These tickets may be purchased at Ticket offices at Stations, Ceuta Sales Office, www.renfe.com, Travel Agencies in person and Telephone Sales – Renfe Contigo 912 320 320.
The conditions for changes or cancellations will be those set specifically for the applied fares for the tickets.
Passengers need to show their tickets alongside valid documents proving they are eligible for any discounts, and keep them until the end of the journey. In addition, they must have their identity document with them.
